The blog is a collection of all the wonderful qualities Greece has into a wordpress website. I strive to expose those to unique shopping, entertainment, culture, and cuisine Greece offers. Whether it is past, current, or present, this blog is devoted towards keeping you up to date on the best shopping expieriences, unique cultural sights, delicious cuisine, and news from around Greece.
As a Greek who has lived in the USA and who lives in Greece, the content is authentic and brought to you from first hand expieriences and reliable resources, including myself. At SKG.7 you will find the most up to date information, as well as frequent blog posts giving you the content that you enjoy reading.
Having established that I lived both in the USA and Greece, and traveled to France, Italy, Turkey, UK, Canada, amongst other destinations, I have a very good perspective on the world. All my thoughts and posts are to show others many interesting sights and expieriences they would not be aware existed in Greece. Please feel free to leave comments or messages regarding places I should visit, and I will write about them.
What separates SKG.7 from ther travel blogs?
- Other travel blogs focus on the repetitive destinations everyone has traveled or will travel too. Here, I focus on more unique expieiriences and details foreigners and sometimes locals may not be exposed to.
- I have a passion for art, music, fashion, amongst other interests found here in Greece. I firmly believe Greece holds some of the most artistic, creative, and fashion oriented people, which has lead to my passion of following these areas myself. This blog speaks to me and my interests.
- Combining the old, traditional qualities of Greece with the new, emerging culture. Greece is home to a perfect balance of old and new, and I am here to show the rest of the world what Greece is about, aside from the gorgeous beaches, views, and summertime memories the other travel blogs focus on.
As a young adult, I have visited many of the places, stores, and restaurants that I write about, giving the honest opinions on the finest venues in Greece. Aside from the tasty cuisine and beautiful scenery found all throughout Greece, I love to write about my interests. As mentioned above, specifically the music, graffiti, and fashion aspects of the modern Greek culture. That being established, you will get an insiders perspective of what it is like to truly be a Greek and what life is like here. Feel free to share destinations, stores, or entertainment I should visit and write about by leaving a comment or message on my posts.
To help you get started, here are a few questions:
- Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
- What topics do you think you’ll write about?
- Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
- If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?
You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.
Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.
When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
