In the United States stores such as Flight club, Projectblitz, and Kith have emerged with both in person and online presences, offering high quality streetwear names and sneakers to their client base. Names such as Supreme, Stussy, and Nikelab exclusive apparel are sold a long with sneakers from the Jordan brand, Adidas, and Nike footwear lines. American streetwear and exclusive sneakers are difficult to come across in Europe, let a lone Greece. Yet, deviceone, a medium sized boutique located in Kentro, the city center of Thessaloniki, brings exclusive American footwear and streetwear to Greece. Having visited the boutique and purchased a pair of sneakers prior to Thessaloniki’s Covid-19 lockdown (which began in early November), I am astonished by the amazing service I received from the staff and sneakers I purchased.
What separates deviceone from other competing boutiques, even in America, is the owners and employees are hip, vibrant, and more than helpful when making a selection on a purchase. Any customer or visitor can tell that these men really care about their store and their clients. They greet you upon walking in, and talk to you when trying on sneakers or clothes, while making other recommendations based off of your taste. Their style is always in, boasting the most unique, cool, and vibrant styles of streetwear and casual sneakers in Greece. The atmosphere of the store mimics an American streetwear boutique with high ceilings, a wall stacked with sneakers, accompanied by a great taste in hip hop/rap music.

Overall, I could not have been happier to have stumbled upon this store when walking to get my coffee from a shop on Germanou street one afternoon in October. As someone who has shopped in American sneakers/streetwear boutiques, deviceone meets the standard of the shops in America. What is in stock at deviceone matches the exclusivity of the products being sold in America. I have not yet stumbled upon a store in Europe, specifically Greece, that offers the same quality of what is found in America.
