When referring to the Greek islands, many tend to associate those words with the islands of Santorini, Mykonos and Crete. Although the islands mentioned are the 3 most visited Greek island destinations by tourists, it is critical to note there are other Greek islands one can enjoy just as much. Containing beautiful beaches, and offering similar nightlife, the islands of Milos, Paros, and Naxos are worth making an excursion for while in Greece.
Distinguishing itself from the other Greek islands is Milos, there is no other island with such unique geology. Created by a volcano, Milos is known for its white rock beaches, and pumice stone mining. The nightlife is compromised of a few small quaint towns where travelers have access to shopping, restuarants, and bars. Milos provides an excellent balance of quaint but not too boring and isolating. Examples of the white rock beaches and rocky environment are pictured below.

Having gained much attention recently as an upcoming and vibrant destination within Greece, Naxos has a variety of options for all kinds of travelers to enjoy. It is the largest of the Cyclades islands, with a landscape that includes steep mountains, flat beaches, and has an urban component. During the day and at night, the main town has many stores to go shopping at, while the restuarants, bars, and clubs dominate the nightlife scene. The main town is where the port is, which is important as the primary way to get around to the Greek islands is by ferry. Other attractions include hiking Mount Zas, Windsurfing at Mikri Vigla beach, and viewing the sunset at the castle, located in the main town.

Facing the island of Naxos is Paros, another island known for its gorgeous beaches and traditional towns that are scattered throughout the island. Paros is much easier to navigate, as it is not very large in size, lacks the large mountains found in Naxos, and has a the most appealing nightlife scene of all 3 islands mentioned. Here you will still find the beaches and swimming coves, accompanied by nightlife at the beach clubs. Paros is very popular amongst young Europeans, thus adding more vibrance to the community in the summer time. More boutique hotels and higher end shopping can be found in Paros as compared to Naxos and Milos. One must add this spot to your travel list when visiting Greece.
