Buscemi 100MM – Worth the Purchase?

A visual and personal analysis of the Buscemi 100MM Sneaker

What’s up guys, I’m here today going to be giving you my thoughts on the Buscemi 100MM Sneakers, give you all my thoughts on them, and provide visuals for those who do not know what these look like. I’m also going to cover who Should and Should NOT be coping these.  To be honest they’re not for everyone.  Finally I’ll talk about overall if these are worth the buy to close the video so stay tuned for that.  Let get right into it in the next paragraph. So this is the red/white colorway, one of a handful of other color ways to choose from this season. I’ll be reviewing this specific colorway as here you will have less distractions with the design and get a better feel for the shape of the shoe.  As you can see it is big, kind of bulky looking.  I like that, the whole big and heavy look, looks good with the fit of the pants I wear and what not, or just in general I think it’s awesome.

Starting at the top of the shoe, you can see we have three very unique features right here that you don’t usually see in many (if not any) other brands.  First, the lock.  That Gold Lock separates Buscemi from anyone else, its their emblem and they have it on other shoes besides the 100MM that they make.  The lock it small, but does have a “bigger” presence than it literally has on the shoe, people will be able to notice it.  The gold is nice and bright, durable lock so you don’t have to worry about it coming off after wearing these after some time.  Next I want to devote your attention to The strap seen on the tongue of the shoe and reaching around the sides.  This is another cool feature that Buscemi added that matches that whole look associated with the gold lock on back.  Again, Golden component to the strap, and the sides have that red accent to them that keeps that shoe from being just white and the gold lock.  Ever since I got into luxury sneakers and clothes, any items with straps own them are my favorite.  I like the uniqueness and the whole look that you’re carrying something extra on the shoe (in this case) look it gives off.  So growing up I really liked and first got into the Nike SB Dunk Mid which had the strap, loved and still love, those.  Now I am more into the Balmain, Givenchy, and Dior sneakers that have either the straps you see here in buscemi, or that double strap that goes over the tongue like Dior.  The strap prevents this shoe from looking all formal and too clean (although that is not a bad thing). It prevents a shoe that could be bland from doing so, so I am thankful Buscemi added the strap feature. To add, the stitching is amazing. There are no loose stitches or already defected stitches, the stitching jobs done by Buscemi are unbeatable.  Never had I had anything this tight, neat, and well crafted.  Lastly, just appreciate the overall appearance of the shoe.  It looks like the Balenciaga Arena’s with the top and tongue (minus the strap), and the front and toe of the Louis Vuitton Rivoli sneaker boots.  You can just google the two shoes I mentioned to get a better idea of what I am referring too. But it is a good thing.  Its thin at the end and thick up top and front, so that is pretty neat to have.  Laces are clean and match the rest of the sneaker as well.  The soles of the shoe air nothing too fancy or unique, flat and basic as you can see.  I’ve attached photos of what these look like from up close and a far for you to understand what the appropriate pant fit is for these. Next I am going to share with you who would really benefit from buying these and who would be better off taking a pass on these.  For clarification I am doing this just to save you all time, money, and energy and share my personal opinion on the shoe.

Who Should NOT buy them?  If you are looking to buy a pair of sneakers that people recognize as high end (example: Louis Vuitton, Gucci, anything with a high end label or well k own brand) DO NOT BUY THESE.  Why? These sneakers cost just as much (if not more) than other luxury big name brands, so you’ll be dropping the price tag for something that won’t get you all the attention from brand name your desire.  Also they’re expensive if you don’t know if you want them (890 USD).  You either Love or hate these shoes, so its a lot of money if your not committed to them, or in love with them (like myself).  Another thing I sometimes hear about those who don’t like these are too flashy or flamboyant.  If you are someone who just buys your sneakers based off of it being able to match all different kinds of outfits, for example, sneakers that go for casual, athletic, dressier look, do not get these.  These lean on the dressier/edgier side of the luxury scale.  I view the 100MM’s as an art piece and it takes a specific type of person to pull them off and look good, so if you’re just trying to flex it will look really stupid.  All seriousness, don’t be that guy I just talked about, just avoid buying these if you fit that category.  But moving into other cons, they include how they are heavy.  These are not light like nike, Adidas Yeezy boosts, golden goose, or other kicks that come to mind.  You will be surprised if you ever hold these in person.  In addition, they do take some time to fully break in.  Personally, for me they are like 15-20 wears before it sat comfortably on my foot. But no blisters or foot problems, and if you buy them in your appropriate size, comfort shouldn’t be an issue.  So aside from a few cons and some people’s different personal tastes in fashion, I am next going to highlight who should buy these.

Who Should Buy These? If you don’t care about being a showoff, but appreciate the unique design and want high end quality sneakers, you have to buy these.  These shoes speak to me a lot and I love them, in fact, they’re just one of my all time favorites.  I own 2 already, bought 2 others recently that are on the way, 4 pairs means I definitely bought into them.  My other pair that I have on me are the ones in black with the white upper that just released, so I’m going to do an unboxing video later on them.  The quality is amazing, in particular the stitching is excellent.  If you want to stand out without buying an obviously expensive pair of kicks like off white, Jordans, Yeezys, balenciaga’s, you get the idea, go with these.  The personal satisfaction you get when coping something low-key and people compliment you more on that then they do on obviously expensive well known stuff is such an amazing feeling.  These 100MM’s will get you that look I just talked about.  Lastly, if you’re someone who dresses slightly more edgy or flamboyant, you should give these a look. Kind of a funny story, Once I was walking around the Lincoln Center area and I had some lady stop me and compliment me on me wearing these.  She asks what I do, referring to where do I work, and I tell her I’m a University Student.  She then looks at me and is like, “oh I thought you were like a foreign rapper”.  So out of curiosity I ask her what “foreign” place she thought I was from and she said Italy, which is where Buscemi’s are made, and Buscemi is an Italian name (Jon Buscemi is of Italian Descent). I find that comment kind of funny because of the whole Italian Sneakers Italian rapper thing, and also people have told me I look French sometimes.  Sidenote I’m neither French or Italian so there you have it.   Lastly, these shoes bring me a good feeling. I personally like how they remind me of the Balmain and Givenchy Sneakers that came out back in the day with the straps and were high top.  I have a pair of high top balmains with straps in my closet, but I’ll save those for later to show you all.  So that whole good memories combined with “look good feel good” get me really into these as well.  Anyways, you’ll love these kicks so be sure to grab them on the Buscemi website or on michelefranceze.com.  I have shopped at michelefranceze for a while now and they always carry Buscemi shoes and apparel.  So once you’re done here go out and cop a pair if you’re serious.

So in Sum, I would lean on buying these, even if you are not 100% into them.  Simply put, they are unique and lots of eyes will look at them and you will gain positive attention.  Also, Buscemi is not as popular as other brands so owning these is a specialty, not mass produced.  If you have the 890 go for it.  Anyways that being said I am going to wrap up this video.  Next video is going to be a review of the Oversized Fit Rottweiler T shirt by Givenchy, so look out for that tomorrow.  I’d love to hear from you guys on other styles, brands, and pieces to try out so message me on Instagram, my username is @twentyone.7. By hitting me up I will try to get to some of your requests and do reviews, try ons, and purchases for future content and personal use too.  Stay tuned and Catch you later.
